IMPERVIOUS TO WATER VAPOUR
FOAMGLAS® does not require the use of a vapour barrier. Its thermal insulation value remains CONSTANT indefinitely. Each glass cell is hermetically sealed during the manufacturing process ensuring that FOAMGLAS® is totally impervious to water vapour and all other gases.
NON-COMBUSTIBLE
FOAMGLAS® will not burn, support combustion or give off toxic fumes. Its inorganic construction ensures that FOAMGLAS® is completely non-combustible.
WATERPROOF
FOAMGLAS® will not absorb any moisture. Manufactured from only glass and carbon, its closed cell construction and glass cell walls retain all the water resistant properties of glass.
HIGH COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH
FOAMGLAS® provides full support to membranes and heavy loads; for example garden roofs, car parks and floors. An exceptionally high compressive strength of up to 1600KN/m2 (depending on type) ensures that FOAMGLAS® will not compress or settle even under the most arduous conditions
DIMENSIONALLY STABLE
FOAMGLAS® will not crack, warp, buckle or become stressed and provides protection and support for waterproofing or floor slabs. Totally unaffected by variations in temperature or humidity and with a low co-efficient of linear expansion comparable to steel or concrete, FOAMGLAS® will not deform
RESISTANT TO ATTACK
FOAMGLAS® cannot be damaged by birds or vermin. Cellular glass is inorganic and will not rot; FOAMGLAS® therefore provides no food or nesting source for birds or vermin and does not support the growth of micro-organisms and bacteria.
