FOAMGLAS® insulation is supplied in either slab or board form, each containing millions of hermetically sealed glass cells, which are approximately two-thirds vacuum and one-third CO². |
Ecologically manufactured on a large scale in a modern plant in Belgium, FOAMGLAS® comprises 66%post consumer waste glass and silica sand with other additives. The plant is equipped with the latest heat-recycling equipment, ensuring our commitment to the environment.

IMPERVIOUS TO WATER VAPOUR
FOAMGLAS® does not require the use of a vapour barrier. Its thermal insulation value remains CONSTANT indefinitely. Each glass cell is hermetically sealed during the manufacturing process ensuring that FOAMGLAS® is totally impervious to water vapour and all other gases. |
NON-COMBUSTIBLE
FOAMGLAS® will not burn, support combustion or give off toxic fumes. Its inorganic construction ensures that FOAMGLAS® is completely non-combustible. |
WATERPROOF
FOAMGLAS® will not absorb any moisture. Manufactured from only glass and carbon, its closed cell construction and glass cell walls retain all the water resistant properties of glass. |
HIGH COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH
FOAMGLAS® provides full support to membranes and heavy loads; for example garden roofs, car parks and floors. An exceptionally high compressive strength of up to 1600KN/m2 (depending on type) ensures that FOAMGLAS® will not compress or settle even under the most arduous conditions. |
DIMENSIONALLY STABLE
FOAMGLAS® will not crack, warp, buckle or become stressed and provides protection and support for waterproofing or floor slabs. Totally unaffected by variations in temperature or humidity and with a low co-efficient of linear expansion comparable to steel or concrete, FOAMGLAS® will not deform.
RESISTANT TO ATTACK
FOAMGLAS® cannot be damaged by birds or vermin. Cellular glass is inorganic and will not rot; FOAMGLAS® therefore provides no food or nesting source for birds or vermin and does not support the growth of micro-organisms and bacteria. |
FOAMGLAS® takes the standing seam into the future
A long life solution - a system that is air tight and without cold bridges, totally impervious to water and water vapour, and a fire safe construction because of the non-combustibility of FOAMGLAS® Cellular Glass Insulation.
The early weather proofing of the building ensures contractual economies.

The weather resistant, energy saving FOAMGLAS® roof system for standing seam.
FOAMGLAS® cellular glass insulation creates the perfect fusion between high performance and aesthetics when a standing seam roof is specified.
Cold bridging is totally eliminated by means of the unique fixing system and FOAMGLAS® is guaranteed to perform for the lifetime of the building.
There is no alternative worth even thinking about. |

SIMPLE INSTALLATION
| |
| |
| The FOAMGLAS® metal plate is applied to the READYBOARD using a gas torch to melt the polypropylene facing and heat the bitumen surface. |
The plate is hammered into the FOAMGLAS® with the serrated edge cross-ways to the roof slope. |
| |
| |
| A ± 3mm thick high performance polyester cored sand finished felt is then applied by torch to the surface of the READYBOARD. |
The zinc sheet is then cut, formed and delivered to site. |
| |
| |
| As required by VM Sogem, a 500 gauge polythene separation sheet is then laid over the felt and the zinc sheet installed. |
The separate sheets are then crimped together, forming the standing seam. |
