Metal Roofing Contractors Association

About MRCA

Sharing expertise

This is the prime function of the MRCA:  members can discuss roofing issues and problems as they arise.  A vast pool of knowledge exists amongst the members and this is freely available to co-members to help resolve specific technical problems as well as providing general advice.

Working with architects and specifiers

Individual members are frequently called upon by architects and specifiers to provide design advice and detailed solutions to roofing and cladding problems.

Competence

Every application for membership is thoroughly vetted to ensure competence in the field of hard metal roofing. This ensures that all members are capable of carrying out their work to the highest standards to the long-term benefit of the industry.

Communication

There are two member’s meetings held every year as a forum for discussion on matters relating to the industry. Guest speakers typically cover subjects such as tax, litigation, measurement etc.

A quarterly newsletter is also circulated to all members.

Metal producers and manufacturers

Cooperation with major manufacturers is fundamental to the principles of the MRCA. Continual exchange of information between the Association and metal producers and contractors is encouraged, as well as with other relevant associations, such as the Copper Development Association.

Consultative Body

The MRCA acts as a consultative body for the drafting of Codes of Practice, Standard Methods of Measurement, European Standards and NBS Documentation.

The MRCA also promotes the use of hard metal in architecture by producing and distributing literature, including a Guide to Good Practice.

Training

In order for the MRCA and its members to remain at the forefront of the industry, a commitment to training is one of the core disciplines of the Association.
